If it looks like there’s a little extra spark between the couple in these campaign photos, it’s because they’re about to tie the knot IRL! This season, we tapped into the love stories from a few of our favorite influencers across the country to help showcase our newest collection of Spring 21 wedding dresses.
First, we’re beyond excited to take you behind the scenes of Madison of @minimalmajor and her fiancé Sonny’s on-location shoot in Los Angeles. Captured by Rebbeca Yale, one of BRIDES and Harpers Baazar‘s top wedding photographers, these photos embody the glam, whimsical, and free-spirited nature of an LA love story. This #DBLoveStory is one for the books! Madison is a 2x Emmy Nominated TV producer, host, and style icon! Madison had a major crush on now-fiancé Sonny since she was 15 years old when they first met. So, after being best friends growing up in Hawaii, they happened to both end up in LA for college. They officially started dating in school and fast-forward 13.5 years, they’ve traveled the world and built a life and business together! Although they’ve postponed their wedding two times in 2020, Madison and Sonny have completely replanned their big day for later this year.
Behind the Scenes
To capture the essence of Madison and Sonny’s California romance and the details of the gowns, we tapped into Rebecca Yale, an LA native and renowned photographer. The result? A story that tells the magic of these gowns (and their relationship) in a photoshoot that’s quintessentially LA!
“After a long year without much of a creative outlet, it felt amazing to dream up and photograph 4 vignettes to showcase the stunning gowns in my favorite places around LA, for the ultimate Southern California wedding inspiration shoot.
The dresses are a fun mix of new and classic, so the sky was the limit on where to shoot. (Plus, the sky really showed off with an amazing sunset at the end!) The accessories give each look so much personality so it was a fun challenge creating a narrative for each look. Then, I thought about how that bride would spend her wedding day. From everything from a black-tie wedding on the beach to a City Hall elopement followed by eating burgers out of the back of a cherry red convertible.”
