BRIDES shares an exclusive first-look at the opulent new bridesmaid collection.
On September 21, BRIDES announced the launch of our new Oleg Cassini bridesmaid collection on Brides.com. Readers were given a glimpse inside through an exclusive interview and behind the scenes photos from our campaign shoot. Launching on October 5, the Oleg Cassini collection expands to include a curated assortment of bridesmaid dresses with the same refined qualities as the bridal gowns.
BRIDES and the David’s Bridal design team speak about the natural progression and craftsmanship of this line. Senior Designer Patricia Keenan states that the Spring 2018 collection is “a reflection of the bridal gowns” and that these dresses were crafted “with beautifully embroidered tulles, fuller silhouettes, and opulent touches of sparkle.” The bridesmaid assortment was created with the same classic, elegant, and polished aesthetic as the bridal line and features similar luxe elements.
In addition to creating styles that were both timeless and contemporary, choosing a classic assortment of colors was essential. Adding freshness to the assortment with textured fabrics, varied necklines, and high-low hems was key. The collection also was designed to allow the bride to easily mix and match her favorite bridesmaid styles. For this first season, the goal is to establish a foundation of attributes for the collection that we can build upon in the future. Oleg Cassini was a New York icon and this collection mirrors the modern style of a polished NYC bride and her ‘maids.
