What is your favorite part about working at David’s Bridal? The people!

Is there a coworker who has helped you reach an important goal? I’ve been so lucky to have many amazing women lead as my mentor in my career. They’ll never know the impact made on me. I’m forever grateful.

What makes you feel confident? Accomplishing daily goals, no matter how big or small.

As a busy working woman, how do you take care of yourself? I LOVE SOULCYCLE. Yes, I’m obsessed some would say. I have three kiddos and a busy schedule, but I never miss a Saturday 7:15am class to set the foundation for my week. Nothing better.

What one piece of advice would you give your younger self? Trust that where you are is where you’re meant to be.

What are you seeing in the world, specifically pertaining to women and girls, that gives you hope? That women are bold and can do anything! Whether it’s a 12 year old entrepreneur or a leading chef, women are leading the way in so many factors, and I hope my daughters also know they too can do anything they want!

What’s your favorite current bridal trend? Honestly, I’d have to say I’m a beach chic traditionalist. It’s timeless and beautiful. So maybe I’m boring b/c it’s not a trend? I just love the ocean.

What is your favorite part about working at David’s Bridal? My Favorite part about working at David’s is the people. Before coming to David’s Bridal, I have never experienced working with a group of highly talented and motivated individuals. I mean, it is unheard of for every single person within an organization to be so skilled and so passionate. Very refreshing to be surrounded by people that are just like you and want the same things.

What makes you feel confident? A good hairdo! No matter how I may be feeling about myself, a new hair do makes me feel like I am running the world. It always lifts my spirits and makes be feel the best. Plus, it is so much fun to switch it up: short or long, red or blonde, curly or straight. I can be whoever I want to be with my hair, but most of all I can feel like the best me!

As a busy working woman, how do you take care of yourself? Although it can be tough, always have a self-care day. Whether it is staying in bed all day catching up on all my shows, movies, or just sleeping all day; Getting a mani/pedi and going shopping; A day of reflection and meditation with no phone, ipad, or tv; Being active by going for a walk in the park, go dancing, or trying a something activity (Groupon is the best for finding interesting things to do). These are things that I do at least once a month, no excuses. One day out of 30 days isn’t too much to ask of yourself where you just focus on you for 24 hours.

What one piece of advice would you give your younger self? Stop and smell the roses Shannon! Slow down and make sure you are enjoying life. What is the point of working so hard, working non-stop if you are not enjoying the great outcomes of all your efforts; Life is too short. Be careful not to let it pass you by. Take time to have great experiences, make lasting memories, and just HAVE FUN!!! Work will always be there.

What are you seeing in the world, specifically pertaining to women and girls, that gives you hope? I am seeing more women being appointed to positions of power. Whether it is in government, judicial system, business owners. It is inspiring to see that although everything may not be changing, we are still seeing some changes in the right direction.

What’s your favorite current bridal trend? I am really enjoying seeing the personalized bridal party mix and matching with colors and textures. Also love seeing the non-traditional colors of bridal dresses coming out like gold and blush.

What is your favorite part about working at David’s Bridal? Being surrounded by so many awesome, smart, talented women!

Is there a coworker who has helped you reach an important goal? I’m currently working towards my career goal of becoming a manager, but I have the great help and support from my manager, Jennie. She has guided me and is giving me the confidence and tools I need to succeed!

What makes you feel confident? Being happy! Everyone looks good and feels good wearing a smile 🙂

As a busy working woman, how do you take care of yourself? I always take my makeup off before going to bed, even when I’m really tired and don’t feel like it. Makeup wipes are my friend! I try to be kind to my skin so it’s kind to me. Also, taking time after a busy day for yoga helps me relax and focus on myself.

What one piece of advice would you give your younger self? I would tell my younger self to be yourself, not what someone else wants you to be.

What are you seeing in the world, specifically pertaining to women and girls, that gives you hope? I’m just beyond thankful to live in a time where women are able to openly support, empower, respect and encourage each other. I’m also thankful for all the people who continue to make great strides for women’s equality. There is hope in the future!

What’s your favorite current bridal trend? Non-traditional destination weddings (other than the beach!)
