Real David's Bridal Reviews: 15 Brides in Their Own Words

What do real brides say about shopping at David's Bridal?

We asked fifteen of them. Below is what they told us—in their own words. Why they chose David's. How they knew when they'd found their dress. How they felt in it. And what they'd tell any bride who's still deciding.

Their words. Not ours.

“I knew I would be comfortable shopping at David's Bridal because I had found two of my prom dresses there in high school. I remembered feeling so special and excited while shopping there and I knew that was what I wanted for my wedding dress shopping experience as well.”

— Megan Letizia, married June 7, 2026 at The Tate House

Why They Chose David's

The reasons brides came to David's in the first place are wildly different—and that turns out to be the point. Here's what each of them told us.

Alexcia Tucker chose David's because every other boutique had a guest limit on her bridal appointment:

“I chose David's Bridal because every other boutique had a limit on how many guests I could bring to my bridal appointment. David's Bridal welcomed my matron of honor, my mom, and all of my sisters, making it possible to share such a special moment with the people I love most. The boutique was beautiful, the staff was so accommodating, and the very first wedding dress I tried on was the one I fell in love with and wore when I married the love of my life.”

— Alexcia Tucker, married July 18, 2026 at Governors Towne Club, Acworth, GA

Amy Santoro chose David's for the practical reasons that add up when you're planning a wedding:

“David's was an accessible store. I liked how there were multiple locations across the country and it was a chain store. It was also an affordable option for my budget.”

— Amy Santoro, married July 19, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church

Allison Lewis chose David's because her family had been shopping there before her:

“My MIL and SIL found their dresses at David's Bridal too.”

— Allison Lewis, married May 3rd (Psst…her veil was also from David's!)

Taylor Overton chose David's because it was the only bridal store at a wedding event that had dresses she actually liked:

“Went to a wedding event and there were several bridal stores there. You guys were the only ones who had dresses that interested me.”

— Taylor Overton, married May 7, 2026 at Hamilton Manor

And Ciara Smith chose David's for the two things brides say most often, together:

“David's had a beautiful selection to choose from. Also, the dresses were budget friendly.”

— Ciara Smith, married May 23, 2026

The Moment They Knew

Every bride's finding-the-one moment is different. Some knew on the first dress. Some knew on the eighth. One bride knew after a 9 p.m. last-minute appointment after her online-ordered dress arrived and disappointed her. Here's how it happened for each of them.

Jillian Haws planned her wedding in three months. To save time and money, she tried ordering her dress online first. It arrived…and it was underwhelming. In her own words:

“Cue the meltdown. At that point, I realized I at least needed to figure out what style I actually loved. So, at 9 p.m. that night, I begged my friends to go with me to David's Bridal after snagging a last-minute appointment. My only plan was to try on different silhouettes, figure out my favorite style, and then search for something similar online. But David's Bridal had other plans. My mom met my two best friends and me at the appointment, and then I tried on the dress. The moment I put it on, I didn't want to take it off. I just knew it was the one. As if that wasn't enough, it was my exact size and didn't need a single alteration. I took it home that very night, and it honestly felt like it had been made just for me.”

Megan Letizia knew when it was the second dress she tried on—which matched a family detail:

“My dress was the second one I tried on. That detail was special to me because my mom's wedding dress was also the second one she tried on! After trying it on I was mentally comparing every other dress to it. First of all, it had pockets! Secondly it wasn't like any other dress I had ever seen. I absolutely loved how unique it felt.”

Abigail Ezell knew after the eighth:

“It just fit so well and I felt like a bride once I put it on. I tried on probably 8 dresses before I found mine, but we all knew as soon as I put it on that it was the one I would get married in!”

— Abigail Ezell, married July 7, 2026 at Sassafras Springs Vineyard & Winery

Bethany Powell knew during her first session, on a spontaneous trip with her mom:

“I went to David's not having any idea what dress I was going to want. And then I accidentally found THE ONE during my first session of trying dresses.”

— Bethany Powell, married May 10, 2025 at Juniata Valley Winery

And Allaina Weaver knew on the very first dress she tried on:

“It was the very first dress I tried on, and it made me feel more beautiful than I've ever felt in my entire life!!”

— Allaina Weaver, married May 2, 2026 at The Antebellum of New Kent

How They Felt In It

The moment they put the dress on is where the receipts really live. Here's what each of them wrote about how it felt.

Bethany, in her own words:

"I am self-conscious about a lot of my body. I loved that this dress shaped me in all the right places, it covered my arms, but the lace still allowed the dress to feel light and not restrictive. The lace, the train, the sparkles, it was perfect."

Alexcia:

“The detailing at the bust was absolutely stunning, and I loved how tiny my waist looked in this dress. For the first time in my life, I truly felt like a princess.”

Megan L., who'd never worn a strapless dress before:

“I loved the floral texture, and I felt incredible with the waist and sweetheart neckline. I had never worn a strapless dress in my life, but I immediately knew I loved how I felt in it.”

Jillian:

“It felt like an extension of who I am. If I could have designed a dress to reflect my personality and style, this would have been it. I felt confident, beautiful, and completely myself.”

Megan Bowness, who found a style she never would have imagined for herself:

“It showed off my figure and made me feel so confident.”

— Megan Bowness, married May 30, 2026 at Deep Roots Farm, Lacombe County, AB, Canada

Their Advice, Bride to Bride

If you're just starting your own dress shopping, here's what real David's brides said they'd tell you.

First, on defining your vision and protecting it:

Megan L. on Pinterest brides and the impossible comparison game:

“I would recommend you spend a lot of time on Pinterest to explore what you like on other brides, but try on a wide variety of styles anyways when you do go shopping. You never know how you're going to look wearing it compared to other brides online. Most likely you aren't going to look like those brides on social media. You are going to look like YOU and it's much more important to pick something that you look and feel beautiful in rather than something that you liked on someone else's body.”

Taylor on not letting anyone push you off your vision:

“Don't allow anyone to compromise what you want. The first boutique I went to, the lady kept trying to get me to wear what she thought looked good and it didn't match with my vision.”

Victoria Ortman on shopping outside the trend cycle:

“You don't have to choose the dress that is trending right now. Get what you love.”

— Victoria Ortman, married September 13, 2025 at Francis Farms

On the appointment itself:

Bethany on the right number of people to bring:

“I'd advise you to not take a large group of people when you start trying dresses. Once you have decided on a dress, bring your girls and let them experience this with you! It's okay if it only takes one day of looking, or several days of trying dresses. It's your day, own it! The number of options David's has, makes them a great place to start.”

Ciara with a specific tactical note:

“Don't try on the dress you love first, it may be the dress you can't compare with any other dress. In other words, try on YOUR dress, you'll know your dress.”

And Jillian with the emotional bottom line:

“Don't be afraid to put yourselves first. Your wedding day is about you and your future spouse, so make the decisions that feel right for the two of you. Throughout our planning process, we prioritized what we wanted instead of trying to please everyone else, and I truly don't have a single regret.”
