Thrifty Thursday! DIY Glitter Tights That Will Spice Up Any Outfit!

Good Afternoon! Happy Thrifty Thursday! With the upcoming holidays that require you to look super cute- we figured a fashion DIY would be very fitting! We absolutely love wearing LBD’s in the winter, but without tights your legs will freeze! To spice up any outfit we came up with our very own recipe for glitter tights that are very inexpensive!

For starters you’ll need:

  • tights- preferably a color close to your skin tone
  • photo mount form 3M (adhesive for the glitter)
  • any glitter- we love gold, silver, or multi color!
  • an old sheet of paper to spray the tights on
1). Lay the tights on the sheet of paper and spray on each leg (do above the knee first)
2). “quickly” pour the glitter on the area you sprayed
3). leave them to dry for just few seconds, then put slide the tights on your arm so the sides don’t stick together
4). spray glue below the knee
5). Pour glitter on the 2nd area you sprayed
6). Leave to dry for a few seconds, then slide tights on again to separate both sides so they don’t stick!
7) Repeat steps 1 through 6 on other leg
8). If you want more glitter, keep repeating steps 1-6 until desired amount of glitter is on your tights
9). Let your tights dry for at least an hour, we suggest overnight so they are completely dry!
10). ENJOY YOUR NEW TIGHTS YOU DIY’d!

Loving the Little White Dress (LWD)

While every woman should have a little black dress hanging in her closet, once the weather gets warmer I think the little white dress totally takes its place! Whether it’s for date night, for a vacation, attending a garden cocktail party or even for a more formal affair, a white dress is a classic, stylish and chic option.

Here are just a few of my favorite LWDs from David’s Bridal.

One-Shoulder Wonder
A form-fitting, streamlined silhouette is so sexy and chic. I love this option below, specifically because of the one-shoulder detailing.

Feminine and Flirty
If you’re looking for something more feminine and flirty, I suggest opting for a dress with a full silhouette. This sweetheart strapless neckline is flattering on a variety of figures while the full skirt is flirty and comfortable—and, it’s so Taylor Swift.

Trendsetting Feathers
For those looking to make a statement, the LWD gets an update with embellishments. If you want to give the illusion of a more curvaceous silhouette, you can achieve it with added depth like feathers. Headed out to a fun party and looking for the perfect cocktail dress? This is the way to go.

Classic & Chic
With minimal detailing and a silhouette that would flatter a variety of figures, this dress would work well in a variety of situations. You can pile on jewelry if you want to get glam or keep it simple if you’re attending an outdoor event.
