What the Fit Guarantee Is

The David’s Bridal Fit Guarantee is a commitment to provide you peace of mind with your dress or gown purchase. When you purchase a dress or gown at David’s Bridal, our team commits to working with you to achieve a proper fit through in-store alteration services or, where alterations are not feasible, through a gown exchange, but like all meaningful commitments, there is fine print. Our desire to see you happy is not a promise that your gown will fit without any action on your part because all relationships take work.

How It Works

Visit any David’s Bridal store and speak with a store associate to schedule a Fit Guarantee appointment. You will need to bring your original receipt or proof of purchase. At your appointment, an alterations specialist and store manager will assess your gown and determine the appropriate service path, whether it be alterations, or exchanging the dress for one more closely in size. While you will still be responsible for any related costs or fees such as alteration fees, shipping and/or handling fees, and, if applicable, rush fees – our team will work to get you the David’s Bridal dress that meets your proper physical sizing.

This only applies to dresses and gowns and does not cover fit dissatisfaction based on style preference rather than physical sizing or costs incurred by third parties.

Standard Rates

Standard alterations rates apply to all alterations work performed.
Shipping and handling will apply to all shipments made.
Rush rates may apply to expedited shipments and alternations.
Exchanges are subject to the David’s Bridal Return and Exchange Policy.
You will be informed of any costs prior to any modifications to your dress or gown.

Options

Based on the assessment at your appointment and the Timing window below, one of the following service paths will be recommended, standard rates apply to all options:

Alterations: Where the size variance is approximately two sizes or fewer, and the construction of the gown permits, our team will perform the necessary alterations.

Dress/Gown Exchange: Where the variance exceeds approximately two sizes, or where the gown cannot be feasibly altered given its construction (for example, heavily structured or beaded styles), our team will work with you to identify a replacement gown of equal or lesser value based on your purchase price. If your original style is no longer available, a comparable in-stock style will be offered.

Combined Approach: In limited circumstances, a combination of partial alteration and exchange may be recommended at the store team’s discretion.

The determination of which path is appropriate rests with the store manager and alterations specialist. Their assessment is final.

David’s Bridal’s sole obligation is to offer the Options described above. You are not entitled to a full refund, monetary compensation, or reimbursement for services performed whether by David’s Bridal or third parties.

Timing & Available Options

12 weeks or more before event: Ideal window; all options may be available
4 to 12 weeks: Standard alterations available; exchanges may be available
Fewer than 4 weeks: Alterations may be available; rush work or delivery may be required; exchanges may be available

No Broader Commitment

The options described represent David’s Bridal’s complete commitment under the Fit Guarantee. Nothing communicated verbally by a store associate expands the scope of this program beyond what is stated here. David’s Bridal is not responsible for consequential, incidental, or special costs, including but not limited to, costs or rush alterations incurred elsewhere, event-related expenses, or emotional distress.*
