Planning a Bridal Shower
Whoever’s hosting will need your two cents to plan a shower you love. Just follow these easy to‑dos.
Agree on the basics
Talk to your host (often your maid of honor, but anyone can volunteer) about the days, times, and places you have your eye on.
Make a guest list
Include close friends and family who’ll be invited to the wedding. Mail bridal shower invites one or two months in advance.

Shower invite must-haves: Date, time, place, and how and when to RSVP.
Optional: Your registry information so everyone can start shopping!
Pick a theme
Bridal shower themes don’t have to be over the top: How about a potluck, a tea party, or a “brunch and bubbly” afternoon?
Get decorative
There are endless bridal shower decoration ideas, from banners to balloons to table signs. Keep things cohesive by sticking to a color scheme. (We love festive metallics!)

Designate a friend or relative to help you organize gifts and cards as you open them, and write down what came from which guest.
Prep activities
Oh, the wonderful world of bridal shower games. Aim for ones that both nieces and grandmas can get in on, like personalized versions of Bridal Bingo or The Newlywed Game. Or ask guests to share snippets of wedding wisdom in a scrapbook.
Choose mementos
Guests love going home with wedding shower favors. A few ideas: personalized glassware, snackable candy bags, coasters in your color, or cute monogrammed sunglasses.
