As mother of the bride, what color should I wear?

A: It is important to consider how you will look in pictures so it is best to choose a color that complements the bridal party. No matter what color scheme your daughter has chosen for her bridesmaids, there are many options that will coordinate beautifully. If you are asked to wear a particular color that you are not comfortable with, refer to our color coordination section for additional suggestions. As mother of the groom, what color should I wear?

A: It is best to choose a color that complements the mother-of-the-bride's dress and coordinates back to the bridal party. For example, if the bridal party is wearing Watermelon and the mother of the bride is wearing the color Chocolate, a shade of green or blue would look lovely. What style would look best on my body type?

A: Our collection is designed with 4 key silhouettes that flatter all shapes and sizes: a) one-piece dress, b) structured jacket dress, c) 2-piece or mock 2-piece dress, d) 2-piece soft jacket dress.

Try on different styles to see which one is the best fit for your style and figure. Jacket dresses are always a great alternative because you can remove the jacket at the reception to create a whole new look.

Do I need an appointment to shop at David's Bridal for my dress?

How soon should I purchase my dress?

A: It is best to purchase your dress as soon as the bride has selected the color and style the bridesmaids will wear. Give yourself plenty of time to find the perfect dress that will make you feel almost as special as the bride on this wonderful day.

Should I wear a particular style depending on the formality of the event?

A: We recommend the following:

•	Formal or Evening event: A floor length dress is most appropriate. A style that is sophisticated and elegant can capture the special occasion. A formal evening bag and complementing shoes will complete your look in style.
•	Semi-formal Evening or Afternoon event: Any silhouette will work! A timeless style will look fabulous any time of day, and provide a go-to dress for events in the future.
•	Informal or Afternoon event: Whether a destination or daytime affair, beautiful styles in soft fabrications will flatter any body type. Comfort is key especially in warm climates.
