In Bloom
A Quick Guide to Summer Flowers Whether you're thinking of something bold and unique, or classically understated, the right summer flowers will leave your guests gasping.
Calla Lilies. Although also available in red, pink and yellow to add extra color to your ceremony, most brides choose white Calla Lilies, elegantly long-stemmed, and tied with ribbon. They're amongst the most popular of wedding flowers for their simple, sleek beauty, and their relatively modest price.
Daisies. Rising in popularity in recent years, brides are finding it hard to choose between the long-stemmed, refined varieties, and Gerber Daisies, with their bolder appearance and more fragrant aroma.
Chrysanthemums. A cousin to the Daisy, Chrysanthemums are rounder and more symmetric, giving it a stronger, more assertive presence.
Baby's Breath. Although they're most commonly seen as an accompaniment, and not a focal point, of a bouquet, on its own Baby's Breath sets a simple, naturally beautiful tone, and at a beautifully low cost!
Sunflowers. Bunches of long stemmed Sunflowers tied with yellow ribbon make a beautiful and casual summer bouquet, which bursts with color.
Lilies. Amongst the most elegant of wedding flowers, the flawless white petals of the delicate Lily perfectly compliment a blushing bride.
English Lavender. Wild and fragrant, these long and thin purple flowers are especially beautiful for an outdoor wedding.
Gardenias. Paired with Roses for a bridal bouquet, or on their own for the bridesmaids, delicate, white Gardenias are especially plentiful down south.
Bells of Ireland. An inexpensive addition to any bouquet, these green flowers would be an especially lovely accent to an outdoor wedding.
