Wedding Wednesday! “Real Bride” Chandra Gives Us The INSIDE SCOOP on Bartering and Making Trades For Your Wedding!Wednesday, November 13th, 2013
Have you made any trades to get services for a cheaper cost or free for your wedding?
Free! Who doesn’t love and adore that word? I know I certainly do. However, the thing with free is that most of the time, it’s not really free. Yes, it’s a big bummer. (*sigh*) Usually, the free item is something that is at very low cost to the vendor and they somehow fluff it off onto you making you believe you’re getting a really hot deal! But somehow, the stars aligned and we happened to avoid this harsh statistic and lucked out big time! As everyone probably knows, renting your venue is going to be one of your biggest costs in the wedding planning process (Unless you have it at a family members house, ranch or somewhere like that at very low cost). Welp, we got our venue for FREE! Yes, you heard me correctly. Completely free. How does one incur such luck you ask?
One of our family members is a member of the country club and we were able to use their perks and host our wedding at no charge. Pretty amazing, I know. The first time the events coordinator told me it was at no charge, I literally had to ask her about four different times to make sure I heard her correctly. The only costs we had to cover were the price of food & any outside décor we wanted to incorporate. They supplied the linen, tableware, tables & chairs. After scouring different venues, that’s somewhat like an ancient artifact and unheard of in today’s wedding venues! So, there you have it. While planning our wedding on a budget, this little surprise was the cherry on top. The kind of surprise that makes you want to do a little heel click when you walk out the door!
