If you take care of your body, skin and hair every day, you’ll always look fabulous for your parties and formals. Here are my top tried-and-true fashion and beauty tips for teens that are easy to work into your routine!
Avoid Harsh Soaps. If you’re like most teens, you have skin prone to breakouts. You’re also being inundated with ads for cleansers, bar soaps and spot treatments that promise to clear up your skin. My tip is to ignore them all and stop using soap altogether. Sounds scary, right? But trust me on this—try Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes instead. They remove dirt, oil and makeup, and you can see the results right in your hand.
Drink Water. It sounds simple, but it’s easy to forget how important water is for your body. Water keeps your skin looking fresh, your muscles healthy and even helps regulate your intestines. To help yourself remember to stay hydrated, carry around a cute water bottle all day in your bag, and have a glass with every snack or meal.
Pat Yourself Dry. While we’re talking hydration, an easy way to lock moisture into your skin is to pat yourself dry with a towel after a shower instead of rubbing. Patting yourself with a towel can keep your skin hydrated and prevent flakes, especially during the dry, winter months.
Moisturize Everything- Especially Your Hands. I probably don’t have to tell you that moisturizing your skin religiously can help prevent dryness and keep skin healthy. Moisturizing your face or legs may be second nature, but don’t forget to moisturize your hands, too. The thin and delicate skin on your hands is just as prone to age spots and wrinkles as your face, so it’s important to take care of them. Your older self will thank you!
Break In Those Heels. If you’ve got a party or a formal coming up, be sure to buy and break in new fashion shoes at least a week before the big night. That way you won’t be suffering from blisters and sore feet after an hour of dancing.
