Wedding Wednesday! “Real Bride” Chandra Blogs About Her Food Selections for her November 9th wedding!Wednesday, November 6th, 2013
Good Afternoon DB Readers and Happy Wedding Wednesday! Today our real bride Chandra is sharing with us her food selections for her wedding that is right around the corner on November 9th! (This Saturday!) Enjoy the food pictures too, makes us want BBQ!
Food for thought….Well, who doesn’t love food? It’s something that brings people together & chat over, a reason to be merry and it has its own unique way of making you fall in love with an inanimate object. What food we were going to serve at our wedding did not come as easily as we first thought it would have. After throwing our original ideas out the window after our families shot them the dirt, we had some thinking to do. All we were hearing was “Well, some people don’t like this, and some people don’t like that.”… The little rebel inside of me felt like bursting out with a “Well, if you don’t like it, don’t eat it!” type of thing, but thankfully, I refrained and just smiled and nodded when no one liked our ideas.
We needed something that appealed to the majority of folks…and if it were really up to me, I’d just have s’mores and Fruit Loops for dinner – but that wasn’t flying over too well with grandma. When we were still at our first venue before we had changed it (the country styled, rustic one) we planned on having catered food, which would consist of bar-b-que! I mean, really? Who doesn’t love BBQ? Apparently, more people don’t like it than I had initially thought. After changing venues though, we hit a home run! I’ve eaten at our venue numerous times before with family and friends and it really is to die for. Everything is cooked to perfection and leaves you thinking how wonderfully it was.
If I know one thing, it’s that we will be having a good time and everyone will be enjoying the food. Whew! We are having an elegant sit-down dinner under the oak trees. We will be having honey-Dijon chicken breast served with a veggie medley of squash and zucchini, mashed taters and their infamous bread! We will also be serving a side salad. We will have a candy table set up for those who have a sweet tooth and we will also be serving our delicious butter cream wedding cake. I think it’s safe to say that our guests will be leaving with happy tummy’s!
