The holiday season is quickly approaching—time for family gatherings, work parties and festive nights out with friends. With so many commitments and engagements to tend to, it is important to plan ahead and find ways to transition your office attire to your night out look—here are some of my favorite ways how!

Sassy Statement Piece: Wow your friends and family with a bold accessory piece that will change up your entire look.

Belted Beauty: Take off your blazer and tie a decorative sash around your dress to cinch your waist, adding a touch of festive flair.

Metallic Must-Have: Throw down the briefcase and put of your essentials in a chic party clutch.

Favorite Fall Trends

by Katrina Mitzeliotis

A new season is a great time to experiment with new trends. While I am just as guilty as anyone when it comes to working with silhouettes, shades and styles I feel most comfortable in, this season I decided to experiment with a few different looks — and I loved the way it worked out, and hopefully you will too!

Red

I wouldn’t usually see a red dress and feel inclined to try it on, but considering it’s everywhere, (and on everyone from Kate Hudson to Taylor Swift!), it was now or never for me! The color is so hot this season — and it’s a vibrant way to stand out! If an all-over red dress is a bit much, try tucking a red blouse into a leather or faux leather skirt if you want to give the look a little edge.

Style A12897

Statement Pieces

While I love piling on the jewelry, I wasn’t always a big fan of the statement necklace — until I finally tried it! The key is finding a necklace that hits you at the right place — and depending on your outfit that could vary. While necklaces look gorgeous with a cocktail dress, it’s also a great way to dress up basic jeans. I also like wearing a button-up all buttoned and sporting the necklace under the collar under the shirt.

Style 225941

Slits

This is another formal trend I’ve always loved on the red carpet — but never thought I could pull off! At 5’2, I’m not working with much height — and that’s exactly why I usually wouldn’t want to wear a gown. While this summer I definitely got more comfortable with the idea, (thanks to the maxi dress trend), I didn’t muster up the courage to try a gown with a slit until this season. I like the way the slit lets you show a little skin — it’s a nice way to break up the dress so you don’t feel like you’re swimming in fabric.

Style F44447

Velvet

The fabric came back in a big way this season — and there’s so many ways to wear it! While this is definitely a trend I was most hesitant to try, I started with my accessories — and you can do the same with this sash! Wearing a velvet belt with your basic little black dress can add an instant dressed up, trendy factor to your ensemble.

Fall Getaway Travel Tips

by Carmen Ondonez

Looking to getaway before the holiday chaos kicks in? Or perhaps planning a trip to visit the family for Thanksgiving? Wherever you’re going, here are some tips to look effortlessly stylish while traveling.

Gorgeous Jewels

Accessories are a great way to spice up any outfit and avoid looking drab. Look for bangles or beaded bracelets, such as these from David’s Bridal for a fun and fresh look.

Style J4591B

Savvy Sweaters

Airports can get really chilly, so it’s important to have a sweater at hand. Look for oversized cardigans in this fall’s hottest colors such as burgundy or hunter green and pair it with your favorite riding leggings or stretchy jeans.

Wrinkle Free Garments

Nobody wants to be ironing during their vacation, so try to stick with fabrics that won’t wrinkle easily and will survive the trip. These fabrics include cotton, wool or nylon. If attending any fall weddings this long jersey one-shouldered dress will do the trick. If you do end up with some stubborn wrinkles, one of my favorite tips is to hang the clothes in the bathroom while you take a shower. The steam from the shower will magically help get rid of wrinkles.

Style F13185

Fashionable Flats

When it comes to shoes, remember you’ll be taking them off a lot while going through security checks, so make sure to pick a style that can easily slip on and off. I like to stick with ballet flats or flat slouchy boots.

Happy Traveling!

Get Gorgeous Homecoming Accessories on a Budget

by Cassandra Morris

The accessories you choose to go with your homecoming dress can give your whole look a style boost and really make your outfit your own. While we’d all love to make a grand entrance into the dance wearing real jewels like our favorite celebs do, that’s not always in every homecoming girl’s budget. But, there are plenty of accessories that have a high fashion look with a bargain price tag. Check out my favorites here!

Twice as Nice

Why settle for one row of jewels when you can get two? This double row rhinestone chain bracelet packs in the bling without pushing your budget. It’s only $12, and mirrors the look of real diamonds! My favorite thing about this piece is that it’s a classic design, so it can be worn season after season without getting played out.

Style 2538B

Sparkle, Baby!

I love these teardrop crystal earrings- and not just because they give off the “real jewel” vibe. They’re similar to the oversize teardrop earrings that Taylor Swift loves to wear on the red carpet, but these are only $15! They have just the right amount of sparkle and dangle, and would look adorable peeking out from under a wavy half-up ‘do.

Style ER0333

It’ll be our Secret

Instead of spending a week’s worth of babysitting money on a professional salon up do, spend a small amount on a few hairpins and have your friend do your hair instead. These totally unique pearl and crystal pins will make any homecoming hairstyle look trendy and fresh, and at only $20, they’re practically a steal.

Style J-07

Now That’s Versatile

The true test of a good bargain buy is whether you can wear it again and again. This bold metallic bow clutch is just $24, and is versatile enough to be worn with a semi-formal homecoming gown or with a pair of jeans and a cute top for a night out with friends. Bonus: you can carry it as a clutch or use the cute chain link strap tucked inside!

Style JUDY

Let ‘em Have Glitter!

Shoes are always hard to shop for. A super cheap pair will cut up your feet and fall apart. Buy a pricey shoe to wear once and it feels like a waste. The solution? These glitter peep toe heels. They’re $39 and have a leather insole, which means they’re not only affordable and comfortable; they’re made with material that lasts. It’s the ultimate budget shoe that doesn’t skimp on anything, especially the glam!

With the warm weather here, it is time to show off your legs in a new dress for your upcoming summer events. Before purchasing a new style for your next special occasion, it is important to envision yourself wearing it multiple times—to get your money’s worth. Here is a classic flutter sleeve style that you can perfectly pair accessories with to dress it up or down.

Add a bold accessory piece to highlight your beautiful neckline and vamp up your appearance for a more formal affair.

Pick up a glittery handbag to put all of your essentials in during ladies’ night out for an extra touch of glamour.

Fashion Shoes
Slip on a pair of colorful sandals and a jean jacket at a barbeque bash—sporting a simple summer look.

Accessorize Your Look from A to Z

Accessorize Your Look from A to Z
by Nicole Brewer

Great accessories are like fashion tools. You can use them to dress up the most basic outfits or completely transform your look from one occasion to the next.

This season, the hottest accessories are all about re-inventing the classics with jaw-dropping designs, interesting new shapes and irresistible colors and prints.

Use these fierce fashion tools to turn up the heat on your spring wardrobe with standout accessories in bright, bold colors.

The Jewelry
Compliment jewel tones with statement gold jewelry like eye-catching earrings, layered necklaces and cuff bracelets or pop off neutrals like nude, white or all black with rich, golden cuffs, or vintage inspired brooches.

This season’s arm candy? Mix & match bangles in all different shapes, colors and textures. Color block any outfit with layers of bangles and stock up on the latest accessory staple.

The Bag
Streamline your silhouette with spring’s sexy and sleek mini clutch. Go totally vibrant with neon bright colors or try safari style with edgy reptilian prints. Ladylike box bags get just as much attention in rich neutral colors for a look that’s Madmen chic.

The Shoe
Platform wedges, updated espadrilles, and ladylike sling backs are this spring’s must-have fashion shoes. So have fun in bright citrus colors or wild graphic prints and brighten up any monochromatic look. Or, save your prints for your pumps with sweet florals or petite polka dots.

The secret to accessorizing is in knowing what works best with your style, body type and personality. So, consider that less is more and choose quality over quantity for the perfect little extras that add new dimension to your everyday style.

I can’t get enough bangles and I live in my platform wedges! Here, I love stacking up neutrals and layering interesting shapes.

How to Rock Statement Jewelry

How to Rock Statement Jewelry
by Katrina Mitzeliotis

When it comes to getting dressed, I definitely have the most fun picking out my jewelry. Trends may come and go, but with jewelry, you should stay true to your individual sense of style. My personal taste is very eclectic—I love big, bold and even colorful pieces! Check out some of my personal favorite statement pieces from my jewelry case and the David’s Bridal styles I can’t wait to try.

Bold Necklaces

If I’m wearing jeans and a simple blouse, I always like to take my look up a notch with a standout necklace, like the pink one I’m wearing here. This bold, multi-strand style was definitely the highlight of my outfit.

If you’re wearing a strapless dress or a simple sheath and feel like you want to add a little glam to your get-up, pair it with a bold necklace like the one below.

Single Standout Bracelets
For every day, I often layer a bunch of different bracelets and bangles, but when I’m getting all dressed up I often wear single cuff. It’s dramatic without competing with your outfit, and it was a huge trend on the red carpet during awards season.

I love the feminine detailing of this piece and how the floral trend is representing. It definitely gives an outfit a softer, almost vintage look which is so popular for spring.

Rings and Chandelier Earrings
Nothing makes a statement quite like a bold ring, especially when you’re getting all dressed up. For formal wear, I rely on a more traditional cocktail ring like this brown one.

If you prefer earrings to a ring, you can recreate the look with a statement pair of chandelier earrings. I love the way a dramatic earring looks with a dress, when the neck is kept bare and the hair is swept up or to one side.

Jewelry Case
Proper storage is crucial when it comes to accessories—and that rule also applies when you’re on the go! Whether you’re preparing for a trip or just cleaning out your closet, be sure to properly store your special accessories. Jewelry cases also make great gifts for girlfriends!
