Fall for the Perfect Shade of Red: Apple

by Nicole Brewer

Whenever you decide to marry, choosing the colors for your bridal party is a big decision. Consider colors that compliment several different skin tones and keep in mind that you will want your chosen colors to show up beautifully in flower arrangements, tablecloths and other style accents.

For fall and winter nuptials, there is no shortage of rich jewel tones, metallic neutrals and an abundance of warm earth colors that promise to create a picture-perfect wedding celebration. If you’re like me and look to fashion trends and red carpet looks for inspiration, the runway shows confirm that red is simply irresistible! Daring and perhaps even unexpected at a wedding, the right red looks great on a variety of complexions.

David’s Bridal has the right red – the perfect shade of fashion’s sassiest hue: APPLE.  You’ll find so many silhouettes that are universally flattering that it may be hard to select just one for all your bridesmaids to wear. In that situation, consider choosing a hem length (short, tea length or long) and allowing your bridal party to pick the dress style that best flatters their body type and unique personality. Or, narrow your choices to just a few styles and let them have an option to decide (with your help, of course) which looks best on them.

Choose from short and sassy hemlines, timeless fit-and-flare styles and long, elegant gowns for a more formal, evening affair. Whatever you decide, your girls will appreciate your desire to make sure they look their best at your wedding and won’t mind purchasing a dress in a color they’ll definitely want to wear again.

Red is my favorite color, so I chose Apple dresses for my bridesmaids. The color was vibrant and the silhouette was simple, offering splashes of color throughout the reception and in our wedding photos—as you will see below.

If you think red is risky business, remember that for many, the color red symbolizes passion, excitement, energy, and of course, love.
