Even though we’re gearing up for fall, I already have spring on my mind. After all, I did just see amazing spring 2013 collections come down the runway during New York Fashion Week – and a new season means new trends! Stay on the forefront of fashion and check out the hottest formal trends for spring 2013 that you can wear right now.
Prints
From soft watercolor patterns to bold florals, the trend looks so chic in formal wear — and it was everywhere on the runway at the Naeem Khan, Monique Lhuillier and Reem Acra shows. This printed gown is a nice way to work the trend.
Slits
It looks like the slit dress is here to stay, at least for another season – and I’m sure Angelina Jolie and her infamous right leg would be thrilled to hear the news. From high slits to much more demure options, I spotted this on the runway at Jenny Packham, DVF and DKNY, to name a few! If you want to rock this look, I recommend the gown below.
Lace
The feminine lace look is timeless and was seen at the Tadashi Shoji, Victoria Beckham, Chris Benz and BCBG shows. I love the soft hint of lace detailing on this dress – it’s such a fresh way to update the LBD!
Metallics
While the sparkling looks ruled the spring runways, the trend is always a great go-to for the holiday season! I loved the show-stopping metallics at Lela Rose and Ralph Lauren– you can easily work the look right now with this dress. A ruched frock is so flattering on a variety of figures, and the classic silhouette never goes out of style.
