New jeans, comfy sweaters and boots are likely on your back-to-school shopping list, but be sure to save some room in your budget for a fabulous homecoming dress, too! As the first major dance of the school year, it’s all about making an impression and showing off your unique style. Here are a few of my favorite dress trends this year:
Mini Dresses, Mini Dresses, Mini Dresses
Flaunt what’s left of your summer tan in a homecoming mini dress! Gathered pickup hems, ruffled tiers and fun fitted dresses that hit just above the knee are all on trend for 2012. Whether you’re into tulle, ruching or sparkle, David’s Bridal has so many options that picking your favorite may be harder than a multiple-choice test.
Awesomely Asymmetrical Hems
Bored with the usual dress silhouettes? Make a statement with a diagonal hemline or a high-low dress, like this one. I love how the sheer skirt drapes delicately over the sparkles. It’s totally dramatic in a leading-lady-in-the-school-musical kind of way.
