Fashion Week Trends Round-UpFebruary 27th, 2012
Although we’re still waiting for spring to finally come, Fall 2012 Fashion Week in NYC just ended and I loved all the variety on the runways! From glam gowns to stylish separates, the season will definitely bring new looks. So, what can we expect to see?
From the Zac Posen runway to Marchesa, we saw a slew of gorgeous gowns in mermaid silhouettes. This sexy, Hollywood glam style looks fantastic on so many stars and will continue to be a red carpet staple—and it’s perfect for a special occasion!
While sometimes designers shy away from color for fall, that wasn’t the case at all this season. At Jason Wu, Donna Karan and Michael Kors we saw show-stopping red gowns. Not only does the color look great on a variety of skin tones and complexions, but it also totally steals the spotlight at a grand affair.
The trend that has been so popular on the red carpet will definitely continue for fall, with designers like J. Mendel and Jenny Packham embracing the trend. This style is definitely on the sexy side, but I love how it’s still sophisticated and chic.
Gold & Metallics
From Reem Acra and Monique Lhuillier to Badgley Mischka, shimmering gold gowns, sparkling sequins and intricate embellishments ruled the runway. Whether on a classic strapless or sexy plunging long-sleeved gown, this bold look always seems to be in style.
