Wedding Wednesday! Our “Real Bride”Chandra shares about her love and passion for PHOTOGRAPHY!

Weddings!!!! Who doesn’t love weddings?! Ahhhh they just make me all giddy & I do a little happy dance as soon as I hear about one of my friends getting hitched. It’s a magical time in any person’s life. When I first started down this amazing path of following my dreams & focusing on pursuing photography as a career, I had a dream to eventually shoot weddings. Way.down.the.line. Well, to my surprise, that dream came true a lot quicker than I was anticipating. I first started out as a senior portrait photographer and whatever else people wanted me to shoot…family sessions, newborns, headshots & etc. You know, pretty much the whole sha-bang. Then, once upon a time, there was a sweet girl who had the confidence in me that I could make it as a wedding photographer. She approached me and asked me to shoot her wedding.  Oh, and to top it off, it was a destination wedding. Pinch me, please! I was like a kid in a candy shop. I hesitantly said yes. It was one of the best and scariest opportunities as a photographer. Would I want take on the responsibility of capturing the most important moments in someone’s life in a single snapshot? Heck yes!!! I was ready to be thrown into the ring  & prove my skills.”

Most of the time, opportunities aren’t just going to fall in your lap. You have to go out there and grab what you want by the horns and keep working at it day in and day out. Someone once told me to never feel comfortable with where you’re at in your business. Always strive to make yourself and your business better and that’s what I’m focusing on. But best of all, I’m doing what I absolutely love. My grandma told me many times over “Do what you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I feel like that statement comes alive when I’m shooting. I love the feeling of being behind my camera and making magic happen. I get to freeze frame moments that will never happen again. I go to every shoot excited and ready to capture the best picture I have ever taken. I get to travel all over the world and I believe I truly have the best job on the whole planet!!!

I’ve had people ask me what my favorite picture is thus far, and I always feel like it’s going to be the next picture I take. I kind of have a way of falling in love with every picture I capture – not because it’s pretty or unique, but because I pour my heart and soul into every session I partake in. Having people believe in me much more than I believed in myself at first helped push me to where I needed to be.

Our wedding photographer was Meg Nolan Photography! She is not only an amazing photographer, but an amazing person and I was so excited to hear that she would be able to capture our very special day!

Stay tuned for my next blog post – I will be posting lots of photos from our wedding from our amazing photographer Megan! Stay tuned!!!
