Golden Globes Fashion Predictions
by Katrina Mitzeliotis
With the Golden Globes right around the corner I can hardly wait to see what some of our favorite stars are going to wear when they turn up for the big night! While glam gowns will rule the red carpet, there’s so many new trends that I expect to see on some of my favorite stars. Whether we see a slew of vibrant colors and pretty pastels or plunging necklines, these are the trends I hope to spot the night of the Golden Globes.
While usually reserved for the sexiest stars like Jennifer Lopez and Megan Fox, slit dresses are definitely here to stay — and we’re seeing so many different stars embrace the trend. In fact, nominee Emma Stone was spotted rocking one while promoting The Help. With that said we can expect to see a little leg on the red carpet.
Every season a stylish star steps out in this silhouette — and I love it. With so many younger girls like Chloe Moretz gearing up for the Globes, this look is youthful and chic.
While nominated stars should opt for dramatic glamour, I think a pretty printed gown is a fantastic feminine choice for a presenter. Flowing, printed chiffon gives off such a romantic vibe — and it leaves a lasting impression.
While fall is all about bold pops of color, on the Spring 2012 runways we saw a re-emergence of pretty pastel hues — and they translate incredibly on the red carpet. Last year, we saw Lea Michele and Mila Kunis in lighter shades — and I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing pale pink, yellow and lavender on the red carpet. Keep in mind, wearing such a light color can be tricky — a sexy neckline or classic silhouette is the best way to go if you want to try the trend. Shy away from ruffles and over-the-top embellishments and let the color speak for itself.
Award season is my favorite time of year! Are you as excited about it as I am?
