Wedding Wednesday! Our “Real Bride” Chandra Gives Us The Scoop On Her Wedding Day!

Well, ladies and gentlemen – I suppose this is the blog you have all been waiting for, right? Today, I will be talking about the big shebang, the hoorah of the century and one of the best days of my life – a.k.a. OUR WEDDING DAY! We tied the knot and loved every second of it. Let me tell you how the day unfolded…

First off, being a girl, I had no clue how long it was actually going to take me to get ready…some days you get ready in the blink of an eye and then some days you’re moving as slow as molasses.  So, just to be sure, I woke up at 6am. I was awoken by my sister barging in my room & singing to me loudly at the top of her lungs a wedding song – it was an original tune & she was definitely just making it up along the way. It was a great way to start the day, to say the least. We had our morning coffee, along with the mandatory questions from family members for any bride – Are you nervous? Can you believe the day is finally here? How are you feeling?  – I was not nervous at all come 10:00 AM. However, after getting ready – doing my hair and putting the final touches on my makeup – it was hitting me! Today was the day that would make me the happiest lady of all the land. I would officially be married to my soul mate and love of my life. I was feeling overwhelmed with gratitude, joy, love and not to mention I was a tad bit nervous. I was really nervous because I am actually really shy. Contrary to popular belief, being the center of attention kind of makes me just cringe inside (lol). However, I pushed those nerves to the very back part of my noggin and just thought of Daniel’s smiling face at the end of the aisle waiting for me.

Quicker than you could say “I’m so nervous, I think I’m about to faint”, it was go time!  No time for nerves. I was about to walk down the aisle. The moment I have been waiting for was HERE! Eeeeek! For all of you brides who have been in this moment, you know what I’m talking about – and those who have yet to walk down the aisle, I can tell you, it was a surreal moment. I felt like I was floating on cloud nine! So, the music starts…my heart is pounding…and I’m thinking to myself, okay, I still have a little bit of time because it’s only on the second bridesmaid out of seven…and them BAM! MY TURN! I start walking down the aisle and as soon as I see Daniel, I had an uncontrollable huge smile on my face, mixed with tears of joy. Daniel was crying – kind of bawling, actually. It was the sweetest thing to see, and I couldn’t wait to get down the aisle to just be near him. All of our feeling for each other seemed to be put on a golden platter and we couldn’t wait to say “I Do!” and confess our love to each other in front of all of our closest friends and family. The ceremony was unforgettable. I was soaking up every moment, taking in every word, and to top it off – Daniel wrote me a poem at the end of our vows. He was glowing when he was reading it. I’ll cherish that forever! Next thing you know, we are Mr. & Mrs. Yarter!!!! Hip Hip, hooray!

We waltzed over with the photographers to take some quick photos & off to the reception we went! I was taken aback by how gorgeous our reception area looked! I mean, should I get into wedding décor or what? (just kidding) We greeted all of our guests, danced under the stars, played in the photobooth, had delicious food, shared laughs & happy tears and had the time of our lives! It went by so quickly, I didn’t want the night to end. I felt like Cinderella.

Around nine o’clock, we ran through sparklers and loud cheers from our family & friends and were then whisked away to our hotel downtown for the evening.

That’s our wedding in a nutshell! It was all I could have dreamed of and more.  Can we do that again? Except with the same man? *Fairytale Status Ya’ll!*
