Rated 5 out of 5 by Neesie Most Enchanting Dress Ever
I have been looking for a wedding dress for over 2 months. The minute I tried this one on, I was ready to say "YES!" to the dress. I am very pale and white, ivory, and champagne wash me out. I've had a terrible time finding a blush or light pink toned dress. This one is a very soft mauve and looks beautiful with my skin tone. The dress is absolutely stunning! I preferred it with the sash tied in back (not in front as shown in the picture) and with a little bling so I added a soft champagne colored sash over the mauve and tied both ribbons in back. It matches perfectly because the dress has soft mauve, champagne, and soft pink and gold flower tones. It fits perfect and the only alteration I need is to have it hemmed. I feel like Cinderella in this dress!! I can't wait for my wedding.

I walked in to David's Bridal, not expecting to actually purchase anything. I immediately went to the clearance rack to check it out, and I saw this beautiful pink colour tucked into the whites and ivories, and I was looking for a deep champagne. So I pulled it out and looked at it, showed my mom and we both thought it was so pretty. I took a card and went home. All that night and the next morning, I couldn't stop thinking about this dress! So I called my best friend and called the store and made an appointment for later that afternoon.
I tried on two dresses before it, the first one was nice and I didn't like the second at all. As soon as I got into this one, without even looking at myself in the mirror, I thought it was the one. The ribbon was a bit thick, that was the only thing that I wasn't keen on when I saw myself in the mirror. We folded the ribbon in half and it was perfect.
But then I glanced behind me and I saw the back on me and almost started crying. That was it.
That's the one.

I have been eyeing this dress but because I am in rapid weight loss mode after having surgery six months ago, I thought I would wait. Call it impulsive, but when I saw this dress in person, I HAD TO HAVE IT! I went in just to get "the lay of the land" for a future appointment, but I did hope I might see this dress. My super nice consultant Marianna showed me some pretty dresses but nothing that wowed me in a big way. She admitted to being a bit green (but I thought she was doing well, especially given that she didn't think they had my dress, a limited edition!), so one of the assistant managers came over to assist us. I didn't mention the dress but gave her some ideas about what I was looking for. Around the corner she came, and it was THE DRESS! It was even in a size that would be reasonable given my expectations for weight loss! I bought the "floor model" but I don't think anyone had worn it, it is spotless and in perfect condition!
I will be looking at alterations in the spring, but I am so excited to be able to peek at this dress for the next 8 months! You can be sure I will be trying it on every few weeks to see how much closer I am to my goal. Thank-you ladies!!!
About the dress:
- it is a very soft, pale pale mauve, with stronger colour in the embroidery.
- the beading and embroidery look much much more expensive than the work of other dresses in this price range, especially at Davids
- it's just the right amount of swishy, without being a huge pouf
- the grosgrain ribbon is pretty, but I will probably experiment with different ties and belts until I decide on the perfect embellishment
