My first pick! This is the first dress I tried on because I saw it online and fell in love. We are having a Vegas wedding and I wanted something shorter. I tried this one on first and then I obliged everyone else that I brought and tried on about 12 more, but I kept going back to this one. I did make 2 alterations to it....mostly because I wasn't too eager about strapless....first I changed the neckline to a sweetheart and I turned the jacket into cap sleeves. I love love love the dress itself tho. It is flattering to a bigger and chesty figure! January 10, 2011
Totally agree I have read all the other reviews of this dress and I simply agree with everyone's comments. I am a short, full-figured woman. I am in my 50's and facing my third wedding. Much later in life I can appreciate how difficult it is to find something suitable and comfortable for this union. Third time, however, is supposed to be the charm and my gosh...is this dress ever. It fit me like a glove and is gorgeous. It is not, however, tea-length on me (I am 5ft tall) but a floor length but it's stunning. The ivory tone with the crystals/beads is not overwhelming, but very classy. January 8, 2011
Beautiful dress! I bought my dress early on in my search, but I wanted to at least try dresses on at one more shop. I picked out about 6 dresses, this one being the first, as soon as I put it on, I didn't want to take it off. It was perfect! My mom and best friend were with me and they both said it was very "me." I made my own belt and wore a custom-made shrug. I love the tea-length, it was perfect for our walking in San Francisco wedding! No bustle to worry about tripping or stepping on. December 29, 2010
I freaking LOVE my dress. I have to admit, I was so against even looking at Davids Bridal dresses. I already had a dress, a cute champagne colored cocktail dress that was not meant for weddings but I had big plans to accessorize. I still love that dress (and will still wear it for something else) but I didn't want to miss out on the Gown Try-On Experience when my Mom came to visit. I went without any plans to actually buy anything but thought I'd like to at least see myself in something white and poufy, just to say I did it. This was the first dress I tried on, and the only one that I thought might actually work. I liked the tea-length style but wasn't crazy about beading or lace, and was hoping for something a little more organic than what is typically offered at David's. I had low expectations, but once I was in the dress, WOW. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress. We left the little jacket off and replaced the sash with a champagne one to give it a little more vintage appeal, and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't buy the dress that day, but came back later, tried it again (after trying on much more expensive dresses at a cute plus size boutique) and it just won, hands down. It fits PERFECTLY and makes me look teeny tiny. I was expecting to be a size 26 at DB because I'm normally around a 24, but I fit into a 22 with a little room to spare (nice!). It fits so perfectly the only alterations I need are bringing the hemline up (because I'm only 5'1") and maybe sewing the bra in because the bustier/corset deal peeks out a little at the top. I do wish I had a little more cleavage in it but c'est la vie...there's plenty of time for that. Im pairing it with turquoise and pearl/rhinestone jewelry and a birdcage veil and turquoise shoes for that vintage-desert pop I was hoping for all along. I can't wait to wear this dress in exactly 1 year! Oh, and the best part? I ordered it less than two weeks ago and I already have it in! The pic of me in it isn't so great, and aren't the exact accessories Ill be wearing, but gives a good idea anyways. October 21, 2010
