A Pleasant (and Lovely) Surprise!
I went to David's with my mother and sister to shop for my gown. Was hoping this would be the only trip I had to make to find my wedding dress (glad that worked out!). Because I am having a daytime event, I expressed an interest for the store's tea length dresses (highly recommend DB's selection). But my mother insisted on having me try on the gowns -- for her, a bride isn't a bride unless you're in a gown!
The consultant brought this dress out in ivory (which was my color choice), and was initially skeptical. I'm only 5'4 (street size 12-14) and rather chunky so was worried I'd look awful in it. But when I put it on...holy smokes, it is GORGEOUS.
Best thing about it -- the fabric. The shantung taffetta is very light (you don't feel bogged down), and it's not shiny (which satin is notorious for). Plus, the fabric has a slight nubby texture to it which adds an interesting dimension to the gown.
The pleats on the bodice is very slimming and the bow is very adorable (it really makes you look slimmer). And the sweetheart cut is definitely flattering (I wear a B cup, and it was comfortably snug enough that there's no risk of any accidental "whoa!" moments if you know what I mean!)
Also, the gown has POCKETS -- a huge plus for me (to stow a hanky or maybe lip balm). It's not quite as billowly, but you can add petticoats underneath if you want some extra oomph.
All I can say, not only was my mother and sister in love with it, but three bridal parties (including their brides) came up and insisted that I buy it. Even the consultant who was helping me agreed that it was the DRESS. And honestly, it definitely is!
So ladies -- if you're still looking, definitely give this dress a try! It's simple, but the construction really makes a dramatic impact! :D

This is perfect! no complaints. and in the words of a 3 year old "mommy you like my barbie!"

B-E-A-UTIFUL!
Davids Bridal was the first stop in my hunt for a bridal gown. After trying a few dresses, I saw this on the rack and thought... This doesn't really look like my style, but for some reason I tried it on anyway. AM I GLAD I DID OR WHAT! This dress is amazing! I AM IN LOVE!!! I love everything about this dress, the sweatheart top, empire waist, the bow, the pockets, everything. I was so scared at first bc the poof filled the dressing room, but when i looked at myself in the mirror, I KNEW it was "THE ONE".
