The One In the process of going to my appt with DB; I was joking around with my MOH; and said something about taking off a jacket. At the store I was going through and picking out dresses to try on when I saw this one. It was the third one I tried on; and seeing the looks on my friends faces when I walked out was enough for me to wonder; and then seeing myself in the mirror made me speechless. DB helped me fine my dress; and wanted to help with everything else that they could as well; from shoes to head pieces. They even helped my friends find the dress we had looked at for them! Awesome place; Fantastic people!! September 14, 2014
Bridal Bliss! I purchased the ivory version of this dress and it is GORGEOUS!!! The pictures posted do not accurately reflect how stunning this dress is in person. The details on the lace overcoat are incredible. And the price is amazing! I cannot wait to walk down the aisle in this dress on my big day! It's my dream dress. August 22, 2014
I felt like a Princess This was my second marriage but my first wedding dress. When I got married the first time in '69, my Father had just passed away. My Mother told me she couldn't afford a big wedding and all that went into it, so I opted for a borrowed dress. It was very pretty but not really "mine". It really didn't bother me. But then I was planning another wedding and although I struggled with do I really do this, a dear friend convinced me that I should at least try to see if I'd find something that took my breath away. I thought I'd just find a beautiful suit. I really thought finding the dress that made you cry was a myth. But I was wrong. At 66 yrs. of age, the idea of getting so fussy with a wedding gown was silly but I thought it would be fun to pretend. I went to several stores and tried on several dresses. Then came this one. I was so amazed to discover that yes, you DO know when it's right. I'd gone to David's Bridal and tried on several there. Nothing was just the right thing. Couple of them were very nice. Then I put on this one and walked out to where there was a mirror walked onto the platform, looked up and immediately burst into tears. What a gorgeous gown! And it made ME look spectacular! Wow! I stood in unbelief. This was THE dress. I felt like a Queen. My wedding day was cold - 2/15/14. A very beautiful but bone chilling cold day in Michigan. I added a cashmere wrap when I went outside. The wind was blustery and cold, but I scooted between the church and reception. It was perfect. I've had so many compliments on this dress and on how I looked. I am really stunned at how very many wonderful remarks and compliments I've gotten. I just know I felt wonderful. Even on the hanger it's beautiful...the veil went with it perfectly. My children all said "Wow". This might not be the dress for you, but I would encourage you to keep trying on dresses and I am convinced you will find the one that makes you spontaneously cry. There really is something to that. And if possible bring a good friend with you who can encourage you in case you are too hard on yourself. I hope one day I can wear this beautiful dress or show it off at a special event. I am not going to be getting married again, but I sure wish there was somewhere else I could go that I could wear it. I loved this dress!! It's still hanging in my closet so I can touch it and look at it again and again. I know I need to get it cleaned and packaged up so it will stay nice....but for now, I love this dress and all the memories it continues to bring me. Thank you David's Bridal for being so smart at so many levels. Your staff are wonderful. Patient and kind. May 17, 2014
Elegant, versatile and comfortable This dress wasn't anything I had in mind when we walked into the store. Let's be honest, you see all those bridal magazines with the same dresses and that's what you picture. This is not that dress you've seen a million times! I wore the (absolutely amazing) jacket for photos and the ceremony and then just the dress for the reception. The fabric was amazing, the neckline was grandmother approved and the sparkle in the lace was gorgeous by candle. I did add the corset back but mostly because of my own tendency to fluctuate weight.
