Very classy look...
I know tastes differ from person to person... Having said that I'm a type that feels too much glitter and/or beading can look a bit tacky. Of course, how much is too much is totally up to the individual.
I live overseas, but have a relative living in the US. A very close friend of mine was getting married and I wanted to wear something special. I usually go for the more 'simple' looks if you will (as you can see from my previous reviews), but this time decided to be a bit more 'glitzy'. I usually wear size 6 and asked my relative to buy this dress in size 7 for me, obviously without having the chance to wear it.
Both the glitter within the dress and the beading on the bodice were just the right amount. I'm quite petite, only 5'2, and empire style dresses tend to make me look shorter. This dress was just the opposite with its ruched bodice (just as I guessed from the pictures). The navy color of it is gorgeous as well. I wore silver platform sandals and a silver clutch with this dress and matched it with my sapphire drop hoop earrings. I'll try to add a photo soon. I think for petite women like me, it is a great option for any special and/or formal occasion. I very highly recommend it.
On a final note, usually I get size 6 dresses altered as I'm more like a size 5. Since I live overseas and don't have the chance to exchange easily, I ordered this dress in size 7 just to be on the safe side. It definitely needed altering, which wasn't much of a problem. But, if you fit in 'very' comfortably to size 6 dresses of David's Bridal, you might even fit in a size 5 in this dress (for those who are considering online ordering without trying the dress).
