Alterations We have a huge wedding party, there are 10 bridesmaids... The dress looks amazing on everyone, but the length is just too long for the look we are going for... Has anyone had this dress shortened and did it look just as good and was it expensive? June 19, 2014
Gorgeous Dress For All Sizes! I started looking online for Bridesmaid dresses about 2 months ago, when I found this style and fell in love! Due to having a beach wedding I wanted something simple and flowy in a color that would "pop" beside the ocean... Whenever we went in to try on dresses this was my first choice and ended up being the only dress my girls tried on! I loved the ruffle all the way down bottom and crisscrossed top! It was exactly what I was looking for and was perfect in every way for my beach wedding! Needless to say, we left the store with 3 of these dresses in Coral Reef :) June 16, 2014
Not for the small busted I want to like this dress but I don't. I'm convinced even after alterations that this dress is just not meant to be worn on my body type. I tried on the 2 & it was too tight up top, I zipped it up but I felt squeezed. I tried on the 4 & it would fall down up top so that I would end up flashing everyone, nice. So I went with the 4 thinking alterations would fix the problem. I'm only slightly okay with this dress now post alterations [done at David's too] and I'm still disappointed it doesn't fit better post alterations. After alterations I ended up with the top tight & feeling squeezed [like I did in the 2] which makes me wonder why I got the bigger size & paid for alterations when I could have just got the smaller size for ultimately the same fit & saved the cost of alterations [which wasn't cheap]. The problem lies in the breast area of this dress, first it's sweetheart, if you're small chested this is the worst, a normal straight across strapless is even better than this. Second there is boning in the breast area which makes it stick out & you're supposed to fill it up, as an A cup even with a padded bra I don't fill it up adequately, a strapless without boning would be better for us small chested gals. Other than that the dress really is pretty, it's just right not for me. May 16, 2014
We said yes to the dress! First the girls tried on another strapless chiffon dress. It looked okay, but I could tell the girls were uncomfortable. I went with the consultant and immediately told her I wanted everyone to try on this dress. It looks terrific! My bridesmaids even said 'we love this dress and could wear it outside of the wedding'. It has good structure for a strapless dress, no constantly lifting and all the girls are different bust sizes. Everyone seemed confident in their dress and they should they looked beautiful!
