When we ordered this, it arrived very quickly. It was packed really well also. There were no imperfections in the glass, and the personalization was done very well. Like other people mentioned, the stand seemed like it would not hold too well, but I filled the vase with water and placed it on the kitchen table, then bumped the table to see if it would hold. Surprisingly, the vase didn't budge even with the water moving around inside. I can't wait to use this during my wedding in February!!

This Sand Ceremony Set is pretty, closed, personalized and transparent with a silver base. All of which influenced my decision... I wanted a closed container and not just an open vase. Personalized is always a cute touch... never know when someone else is gonna mistake your sand-filled glass heart for theirs ;) And it was more curvy and aesthetically-pleasing to me than one of the box models... also I didn't know what our future home was going to look like, so I liked transparent better than white or black.
The heart is great and made of thick glass. As are the vases. The personalization is etched in, so you only see it if you really look (a plus in my book).
Not sure why they threw in a third, smaller, undecorated vase (unless maybe someone wants a third party in the sand ceremony? Could be). Regardless, none of the vases has the capacity for the amount of sand you would need to fill the heart. One vase would fill about 1/4 of the heart. (I tested it out with water).
The heart can fit just about 2 pounds of the colored sand they sell on DB (mayyybe less, but err on the side of having more than you need, just in case something spills!). So we ended up getting two glass carafes for our actual ceremony.
Now we have a beautiful sand-filled heart, two carafes to use in our kitchen, and three little vases lying around. I just keep the personalized vases on display next to the heart... maybe someday I'll put a rose or three in each one, cuz that's all that would fit...
Some functionality concerns:
The stopper fits the heart but VERY loosely. It basically looks good and keeps dust or bugs from getting in. But if it were to fall over, it would definitely fall out.
Speaking of falling over, the stand has only 3 legs which were not placed in a balanced way. Why, I don't know. And the legs are those wiry-curvy things you see in the picture. So there is VERY little contact made with the ground or whatever, AND it's unbalanced contact, at that. And the glass heart being so thick and heavy (especially once the sand is in there), the whole contraption is very top-heavy.
So, it's pretty. It works. But try to bend the legs a little (don't snap them!) to compensate for their placement, and put this thing somewhere where it won't be anywhere near movement!
Looking back, were it not for the stability issue, I would have decided on this one all over again. I now wonder how many days it has left and when my future children will break it. Because of the lack of stability and unsealed nature of the stopper (and extra vases that you pay for and will probably never use)... I would go one of the boxy ones, maybe with a picture frame feature.

Upon receiving this I was completely stricken with how beautiful it was. Very pleasantly surprised. Our wedding colors are gray and red, so we chose the Apple and Silver sand. Absolutely gorgeous, could not be more pleased.
