Just bought this dress!
I just have to say that I've stalked the DB site for a year and a half looking at dresses, and passed this one up. The picture is nothing like the reality. This dress is gorgeous in person!
This is nothing like the dress I was planning on buying, but my mom made me try it on. It's slimming, it's comfortable, and it's so much lighter than the other dresses I tried on.
I love this dress and I'm soooo excited to be walking down the aisle in it.

Wow
I moved across the ocean to Egypt and decided that I was going to travel back to the U.S. to purchase my wedding gown. I also had to choose a dress that would be easy to transport back to my country. This was the first one I tried on. As soon as I put it on, I was floored! It gave me a very nice shape and worked very well for my body type. i'm only 5ft. 3in. tall so I was going for an A-line with no poof or frills. This dress had just the right amount of glitz and glamour. I ended up removing the built-in crynolyn under the skirt because like I said, I was against the puffy skirt. It was fantastic and made my day wonderful. Also, Egyptian weddings involve a lot of dancing! The dress was so lightweight and didn't make me feel stuffy or overheated. all in all I would recommend this to any girl who is looking for something classy, timeless, and easy to move around in! Thank you Davids Bridal!

beautiful but ....
I tried on three dresses and although this is more than I wanted to spend I fell in love with it. I bought it that day and have been dreaming of it ever since. I just tried it on for my final dress fitting and the detailing of lace surrounding sequins is very discolored. My dress was wrapped in a sheet as directed and in the bag since they did say that this is possibility. I go for my official dress fitting tomorrow and I must say I am crying a lot because I may need to buy a new dress. I have been searching online for different styles and have very little that I am in love with as much as I am with this dress. I do agree with everyone that this dress is amazing, lightweight and make you feel slim and beautiful but I will not be able to wear it. I will find good use for it though as it is breathtaking and you are all correct that the catalogue does not do it justice !

Try it on. Really.
There is a whole story about another dress I HAD to have but was discontinued. I was crushed. (And believe me, I used every single bit of internet-savvy I have to try and get it.)
This dress was a complete accident. When I flipped through the catalog I looked at it, said "Meh", and moved on. I tried on many a dress at DB and finally just started trying what my mom suggested... and the consultant brought this dress. Which, I must say, I had not asked for. I would never have asked for it in a million years. She thought she was bringing me another dress I had asked for.
But this dress? The picture doesn't look that great. The waistline is asymmetrical and that drives me nuts.
But then I put it on.
...
And I ended up buying it.
Ladies, this dress is light, floaty, ethereal, effervescent, and beautiful. The detail is amazing. The satin under the dress may not be of the best quality, but chiffon somehow ALWAYS looks classy and amazing. And in comparison to all of the other dresses I tried, you can actually walk around in this dress without feeling like you have another 40 pounds in dress on you. Like everyone has said, the picture does NOT do the dress justice. Do yourself a favor. Try it on. :)
The only thing I'm sad about is that I feel that the asymmetrical back doesn't lend itself well to adding a corset. Which I had had my heart set on. Alas.
