I wrote a review of this dress suggesting that it wouldn't look good on sizes 8-12, let me clarify and say if you are an 8-12 and on the shorter end. In addition, I wouldn't trust the fitter dress AT ALL.
I uploaded two pictures before (in the dress and street clothes). I am 5'3, the volume of the skirt on the dress I got was fuller than the one in store when I tried on -- even though they were supposedly the same size. This is an image from when I tried on -- same size dress as I wore to the wedding -- the dresses was COMPLETELY different than what I got (in green).

LOVE THIS DRESS!
I bought this dress for one of the more formal nights on a cruise. It is super comfortable and flatturing. The cotton sheen is beautiful and lightweight. There is great structure on the top and it has POCKETS! I'm 5'9 and 165 and wear a size 10, it fit perfect.

Not for average sized women.
This dress looks best on thin women and women who are plus-sized. If you're in the 8-12 size range, it's just going to make you look pudgy in the hips and lower stomach.
I wore this in my best friend's wedding and while I have wore worse -- this wasn't my favorite. I wore it in a 12 -- I definitely feel like the dress I tried on in the store fit differently than the one I got (and no, no weight gain). The pleats were fuller and the bodice fit lower. Had the dress I tried on fit like the one I got, I would have voted the bride go with another dress (it was down to two).
I'm attaching a picture of me in the dress and a picture of me in street clothes -- I weigh the same in each picture.

Universally Flattering
I chose this one for my bridesmaids, and they have all remarked on how flattering and comfortable the dress is. Having tried it on before them (my rule: never ask a bridesmaid to wear what you wouldn't wear!) for comfort and fit, I knew what a good deal this one would be. My wedding is in June, so the heat could be stifling, but this fabric breathes and is so soft on the skin. (The pockets are pretty awesome, too!)
