Beautiful gown I'm so happy with my purchase.. My wedding is a week from today and I'm so excited to see how everything looks together. I'm in love with the corset back... No alterations needed... It's a great buy. I highly recommend for us curvy ladies! July 19, 2014
When I went to David's, I believe this was the 2nd or 3rd dress I tried on. As soon as I put it on, I knew this was the dress for me and I didn't even want to try on any others. I have an athletic build with very broad shoulders and a 36D bust. I hadn't had any luck at other stores with dresses that made me look and feel feminine. This dress is amazingly flattering on any body type that would be considered plus size. I am not plus sized but industry standards say that my size 12 frame is. Anyhoo, The corset back cinches in the waist beautifully and the gathering on the bodice will hide any tummy issues. I love love love my dress. I purchased it in ivory and it is simply gorgeous. I can't wait to walk down the aisle in September in this. AND it was priced right! April 29, 2014
Best all around I went to davids bridal looking for a dress that I could wear as an older bride. this isn't my first wedding so I didn't want that heavy satin ball gown look. I wanted something that could breath, didn't need any altering, had chiffon, had a little beading and lace appliques so it isn't too plain. I also wanted a corset back to tighten when I lost a few pounds. This dress was perfect. I can look like a bride without going over the top. The dress feels lighter because of the cotton broadcloth skirt lining, and there isn't as much tulle at the bottom to keep the shape. The fabric over the lining seems to be taffeta, then a sheer chiffon drape. The train is a good length you don't trip over as a sweep train. The side drape helps make your waist look slimmer as does the corset back. It was comfortable and fell at the perfect length with the Mirabella shoes. My toes peeped through and I am 5'5". I needed a 16w. I also got a chiffon shrug to go over my arms as I am self conscious about arm fat. I never thought I would get a strapless or corset or side drape. However when you try on dresses you usually find out what you thought you wanted doesn't look as good on your body. Ruching and side draping helps define the waistline more. There were other dresses I liked that had more appliques and ruching but this one was just right, not over the top and not too plain. I was going to go for a chiffon dress that was more inexpensive without the extra lining to make it retain an A line skirt and all the bridal frills, but on your wedding day you want to fell like a real bride. I definitely will feel comfortable and still feel and look like a bride in June! April 5, 2014
Slimming, airy, comfy! How amazing to find a wedding dress that feels comfortable! I brought over 20 style numbers to try on but because I am a bit thicker than most, many were not available in my size (missy 16 in davids bridal sizing). I just had a baby Dec 2013 so trying on gowns only two months postpartum was rough, but this dress made me feel beautiful, sexy and myself again. I couldn't believe how much of a waist the corset back provided. I wasn't instantly sure because it is a pretty traditional and classic silhouette, which I thought I wanted to avoid. I originally envisioned a lace sheath with an illusion or keyhole back, but I felt they all looked like tablecloths and did not give me flattering lines. The fit of this dress however is fantastic. It cinches you in without being uncomfortable, it is a good length ( I am 5"4 1/2 and 200 lbs atm) and moves effortlessly when you walk. You can even easily sit. I wasn't immediately sold because I had envisioned something modern and funky like Vera Wang's pink ballgown or the new Zac Posen line with his heavy stretch satin and stripper style bustier tops, but when I found myself walking the racks with the store manager (thanks for the personal attention, it meant a lot), I had been holding my infant on my hip while wearing this dress (seriously, the store was gracious and accomodating) but anyway, when I realized I was effortlessly walking holding the baby in a wedding gown, while still feeling beautiful AND sexy at my current weight, I knew hands down it was the one. I won't need any hemming and even if/when I lose more baby weight, it can be laced up tighter to avoid alterations. Yay! I am considering the addition of a lace cap sleeve, but am not sure. I will post pics after our Lake Tahoe outdoor garden wedding in August 2014. This dress may have been out for many years, but it is still relevant and beautiful today. February 16, 2014
