Pretty from afar, but with problems I did feel beautiful at my wedding and was happy with how I looked. However, this dress was a headache--not well made, and not easy to tailor for a petite person. I was originally thrilled to finally find a lace dress in the store without sequins. First dress I ordered came with red smudges, and had to send it back. Second one had breaking piping and lace, but apparently that's what you get for the price. I got it in the smallest size, but it had to be drastically altered to fit me (I'm 5'1", 100 lbs), and unfortunately I had to get cups put in to fill out the bust because that part couldn't be brought in. When the dress finally fit snugly as it should, the lace straps were unbearably itchy. Even with a lining put in, my bridesmaids had to put hydro-cortisone cream on me so I wouldn't have red welts on my skin. I ended up ditching the sash, bringing in the dress at the waist and wearing a flare slip underneath. All said and done, I did feel beautiful, but there was a lot of inconvenience, trouble and pain to get there. FYI for other petites out there-- my alterations ended up costing AS MUCH AS THE DRESS ITSELF, so beware. December 20, 2010
Best Dress EVER I saw this dress online and loved it from the minute I first set eyes on it. After trying it on, it just confirmed how strong I felt about it. It was the most perfect dress. It is sweet and simple. I changed the sash to the clover color to match my bridesmaids, but I was able to easily remove the beading from the ivory sash and sew it on the clover one. I got so many compliments on this dress. December 16, 2010
Answered prayer I originally didn't try this dress on because of how it looked on the rack. I have a few curves to me, so I didn't think it would look good. Last week I became worried that I wasn't going to find a dress I absolutely loved because although I really liked some of the dresses I had tried on, I didn't have a feeling that any of them were the one. So I went in about a week ago and tried on dresses with just myself and my sisters. I still had doubts when they took it to my room.... It didn't look like it would look good on me, but then I tried it on and almost started crying. This one was an answered prayer and it's BEAUTFIFUL! Try it on before you judge it. December 10, 2010
Timeless Our ceremony was in an old mission and our reception at an old timey western ranch in the saloon. The dress performed wonderfully. It had the vintage look I was going for as well as a traditional, elegant feel. I knew I wanted a dress I could move in comfortably and that would bustle nicely. I had a five point bustle. I considered changing the sash to match my colors, but never found a sash in the color I needed. I paired the dress with an old style mantilla veil since we were being married in the mission. I wore a mermaid slip to add some volume to the skirt. The dress was so light and airy! I also wore my hair down, despite the keyhole b/c my hubby loves my hair down. I had to have the dress taken in around the chest and added cups. Despite ordering a size six the chest area was still large. I am a medium C cup. The only reason I marked it down was b/c the lace on the bodice isn't consistently symmetrical and sticks up in some places, though it didn't show in any of the wedding pics. This dress will stand the test the of time, thus, I preserved it for my daughter... =) December 8, 2010
