Absolutely gorgeous - picture does NO justice! After browsing the website, I went to David's Bridal with a few dresses in mind. This was not one of them. My assistant at David's gave me the new catalog to look through and mark the pages of dresses I wanted to try, and I noticed this dress at the last minute and marked it, not really thinking it would be that great. It was the first dress she had me try on, and I couldn't even remember marking it. But I LOVED it. I almost cried. But I thought maybe I felt emotional just because it was the first wedding dress I'd ever tried on, so I tried on 10 others, but none gave me the feeling this dress did - and my mom agreed. I tried it on again and didn't want to take it off - I felt gorgeous. I tried it on in Ivory so I ordered it in that color the same day. It's not a yellow ivory at all. The sales girl described it as "candlelight white." This dress is gorgeous and I can't believe they used this photo in the catalog - it does NOT do it justice, just as everyone else has said!! The lace gives it a vintage feel and the beading is metallic without looking cheap. The dress isn't too heavy and the A-line flares out just the right amount - it's SUPER flattering. I am beyond happy with this dress. I felt like a princess without all the tulle and poufiness that so many other dresses have. I'll be wearing it with a cathedral length veil with matching metallic beading, and I can't wait. March 13, 2010
THE dress i thought i knew exactly what type of wedding dress i wanted. a sexy mermaid/trumpet silhouette, ONLY silk, & very little beading. I was set on this one dress at a locally owned bridal boutique. I just made an appointment at David's for fun. I tried on about 10 dresses before i tried this one on, all of them being beautiful, but not my type. This dress was the last one id give my time to. The very moment I saw myself in this gown my jaw dropped. I felt amazing in it, my bridemaids & I started getting teary eyed. & for me to cry i KNEW it was the one. Everyone is right the pictures dont do it justice at all. its so amazing, beautiful, classy, & has that vintage feel to it. The COMPLETE opposite of what i wanted. Try on different types of dresses even the ones you wouldnt see yourself in, one of them could be the one! February 9, 2010
Worth every cent The picture of the dress in the catalogue does not do it justice. Even on the manaquin, i was not completely convinced. When i tried it on, however, i knew it was the one. It is extremely figure flatering, and I ended up buying the dress that same day. I didn't even need any alterations. I purchased this dress in ivory and it is a beautiful candlelight white- not the awful yellow looking ivory. Looks like a designer vintage gown. I am excited to wear it, and the beading detail on the bust and on the back are beautiful. Definitely try it on. Don't go by the picture. January 25, 2010
